This artwork is an acknowledgment of Aboriginal ecological knowledges and economic development through Aboriginal understanding and abilities to use produce from nature not only for personal use, but to trade across hundreds of kilometres of trade routes. Access to food and medicine through an understanding of Country and plant life, and to not only identify, but also to harness plant life to use for food and medicinal purposes.
A local Aboriginal Elder turned painter some 35 years ago, Lionel's work has been exhibited here in Australia as well as many over-seas locations. Each and every piece of art comes with its own unique story and explanation of individual sections of the art.
