Wayne Davis was born and raised in Darwin NT. As a young man he fulfilled his dream of becoming a Parks and Wildlife Officer within Kakadu National Park, where he cared for sacred lands and was taught directly from the Senior traditional owners about ancient rock art, the cultural landscape and the tribal groups of the region.

Collectors not only covet Wayne’s art from its healing mysticism, but also for his contemporary stylistic vision. Each canvas authentically respects the cultural permissions and responsibilities that have been bestowed upon Wayne by his Elders and Ancestors.

His art engages all five senses and then beyond, inviting viewers to connect spiritually, physically and emotionally. The traditional stories he shares reflect a lifelong commitment to preserving Aboriginal Culture in a meaningful and culturally safe way.

Wayne’s clan group represents kaytej/amatjere/alyawarre people and he made it his place to establish his traditional connections to country, his mother was part of the “Stolen Generation” and was removed from her traditional lands and relocated in Arnhem Land, this connection helped to support Wayne in telling and sharing his stories that reflect both saltwater and desert style, it is demonstrated through many of his works.
