Steph Marygold Everett is a proud Palawa woman, a Plangermairreenner woman from Meenamatta country.

Her country is on the northeast of Tubunna (Mt Ben Lomond) just into the north east of Tasmania and just off the grid of the Midlands.

Stephs matriarchal ancestor is Wapperty, daughter to Manalargenna and his wife.  Her mum married into the Woods family, and she has spent half her life growing up in the Noongar Community.

Stephs Dad Mick Woods and her mother Kerry Everett taught her my style of contemporary Indigenous art.

Steph says “art is evolving the more I grow and learn about myself, as a First Nations woman today, my culture and connection to Country.
