Lumpu Lumpu (Well 47)

Jack Jnr Macale Loodgebuddunge

This Is my Grandmothers on my mother’s side tribal home.  We are the Walmajarri people.

We are the people from the Canning stock route.  My Grandma was the one of the last lot of children from the bush that lived peacefully without any interruption from the white man.

There were some good times and also some bad times that happened here at this place.  Grandma would often talk about her family being chained up and she witnessed a lot of things at a young age, this place also reminds me how my great uncle was shot for being a “fugitive”.

He was hunted down for spearing a sheep to feed his family, the family was then “escorted” on the wagon to Mulabulla mission.
