Emu in the Sky

Polly Wilson

I have painted this piece to represent one of my favourite celestial Dreamtime stories called ‘The Emu in the Sky’.

Found in the Milky Way is the emu that changes its position from season to season.

The emu is both the creator and protector of the sky.

The green circles to the left represent forests. As trees absorb carbon dioxide, they exchange it for oxygen which makes them a vital part of life on our planet.

They also provide us with shade, shelter and shields for not only humans but a home for our precious wildlife.

Out of the millions of planets drifting in the universe, this one is ours, this is our earth. We have only got one shot.

The more we care, the more we can share with our future generations.
